RULES AND CONSTITUTION
1. Name:- The name of the Society will be Society for Promotion of Oil Palm Research and Development.

3. Area of operation:- Throughout the world
4. Aimsand objectives The Purpose of the society shall be promote and develop Oil Palm and all its related aspects by:
(a) Publishing an Oil Palm journal which shall be called “International Journal of Oil Palm”;
(b) Publishing news letter biannually;
(c) Holding National and International meetings and symposium, seminars, workshops, group meetings and organize exhibition and melas etc. with a view to diffusing scientific knowledge among scientists and public and facilitating personal contact between members;
(d) Holding agricultural shows and exhibitions related to Oil Palm;
(e) Encouraging regional societies;
(f) Encouraging original investigations;
(g) Making efforts to create facilities for Oil Palm research and development;
(h) Other activities approved by the society or its Executive Council;
(i) Organising chapters of the society to qenerate concerted efforts for the development of research activities in a specialized branch;
(j) The society will be a non-profitable and non-commercial association;
(k) The society will bring together the scientists, development officers, growers, processors, traders etc., and be a link to the state/central governments for a coordination and over all development of the oil palm industry in the country.
